Ergolace 2 is a lightweight, durable, fast-drying and extremely comfortable shoe for flat pedal riders that dream of going beyond the tarmac. Ergolace 2 Flat builds upon the attitude of its predecessor with a wider shape, reduced bulk, and a revised X2 outsole that is even more confident on loose or uneven terrain and grippier on flat pedals. The updated shape is wider in the metatarsal area, providing more freedom for toes and an overall roomier fit that increases comfort for long days spent on the bike.
The upper features a lightweight and breathable ripstop fabric, eliminating excess materials and bulk. Wide PU-laminated areas add protection and durability, while the toe box is further reinforced to protect feet from rocks and roots. The practical, foot-wrapping bootie construction made from perforated Airprene fabric provides a pressure-free fit. The perforated Airprene fabric allows moisture vapour to escape for better breathability and shoes that dry faster after wet rides.
The closure system is ergonomic and asymmetric so as not to interfere with the bike’s drivetrain. The speedlace system keeps feet secure and stable in the wildest riding conditions and is easy to lock and release. The revised X2 flat outsole provides the shoe-to-pedal interface needed for fast trail riding and gravel adventures, combining the stickiest Vibram XS Ride rubber compound with a specific zonal lug pattern. The mid-foot area has lower lugs with a more regular shape to improve mechanical grip with the pedals. To improve ground traction during hike-a-bike moments, a more aggressive tread is used under the heel and toes.
