Possibly the oldest Bike Shop in Dorset...
38 Salisbury Street has been a Bicycle Shop since the early1900’s. Number 38 also proudly displays a blue plaque, as it was the birthplace (1817) of AlfredStevens; the famous Sculptor, Painter and Designer.
The building has changed considerably overtime and what was originally a tiny shop at the front of the cottage was later opened up at the rear, creating an ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ effect, a mecca for cyclists!
Rossiter Cycles, became Lucas Cycles, which then became Jack Hearne Cycles. And then circa 2000 Offcamber took the baton and we hope to continue for many more years.
Today Offcamber is a Family Run Bike Shop, bought by the Day Family in 2006 (Current Owners) and in that time we have seen year on year growth of the business. In 2015 the Shop Floor expanded right to the back of the Shop, allowing more bikes to be displayed and the workshop was elevated onto a mezzanine, overlooking the Shop Floor.
We really do cater for all; from hardcore cyclists to people who occasionally ride or commute - and everything in between. We have a great selection of bikes, along with lots of parts and accessories.
Please do come and take a look...
